@9:16 PM
I'm behind Zul on posts lol, but she has more going on than I do. Well that's not true, I guess I just have a little more frustrating things going on.
My father is in the military and with the new G.I. Bill thing they just made would allow him to transfer his education benefits to his dependents. When he went to fill out the form to give authorization for them to be transferred, so I could apply for it, my name was not listed as one of his dependents! It doesn't make a lot of sense. It says that his children dependents (as opposed to his spouse dependent) can use the benefits until they reach the age of 26. I just turned 21. He was supposed to talk with someone today to figure the whole thing out. He will be home in a couple of hours, so we'll see what happens. If I can't get the benefits I will have to finally break down and get a loan. I have tried everything to avoid it. I really don't like the idea of spending what I don't have and then I'll have it hanging over me while I'm trying to get an education. I know a lot of people do it, but I just have this thing about it.
Anyways, on a good note and completely non-new york related I have a front row seat to see the Cranberries concert in November. I am pretty excited about it. I kinda need it too. I never do anything and with all the stress from trying to get into college and get money for it, but getting doors closed in my face that I have to try to pry open... I really do need it.
On the job front, I haven't heard anything from Swiss Colony yet. I don't know if I should call though. You usually call after the application and then set up an interview, but I was asked to stay for the interview. The job doesn't start till possibly the end of October beginning of November. They weren't real specific. I should hear from them soon and hopefully I get the job. I should they need a lot of people and I did well on the dexterity test I had to do. I did above the benchmark. I don't know though. My old Irish luck is failing me right now. Something just better start working out soon, before I get too disheartened.
Later,

Exams, exams ...and NYU
@8:45 PM
So, ok. Today I had an exam in my accounting class. I am absolutely sure that I got an A on that exam and I really need it. Accounting is not as easy as I thought it was going to be when I first started the course but I am pretty sure that I got a good grade on it. I was somewhat scared to take it because earlier today, while I was doing my homework for the class, I was freaking out because I knew how to get the answers another way but I needed to get the answers in a SPECIFIC way. But, when I took the exam everything balanced out and all was good. So, yeah. I'm happy about that. I will update on how I really did on the exam later, I guess.
But, seriously... I really need to pass all my classes with A's because Rani and I have decided that we are going to go to NYU, provided that we get accepted. We really want to go so in order to do that we need to get ALL A's and I mean ALL A's in ALL of our classes. They don't play, seriously. And I don't intend on not getting accepted to that university. I seriously have to because that's the only university that I know that has the major that I want to go into: Spanish Literature.
Anyways, I think that is the only update I have for now. That will be all. Take care of yourselves and it will be until next time.

Between jobs and calls
Monday, September 28, 2009
@6:08 PM
So, ok. Today has been a regular day even though it was somewhat hectic. I had to make some phone calls and such in regards to getting to NY, etc. I made the first phone call before my 11AM class and it was to Blockbuster, where I put in an application last Tuesday so that I could find a job from now until late December/early January. The manager was actually kind of rude when she answered the phone and she told me that she hasn't finished checking out all the applications and that she's still pulling out applications from the system or something like that. She said by the end of the week or at the latest sometime next week she would be calling people to set up some interviews. Yadda, yadda.
I also put an application at Jos A. Bank and I'm also going to put one at Harris Teeter, a supermarket that we have in the area. I just hope that I get a job because I need that money so that when Rani comes to visit I will be able to go with her to hang out in New York. I mean, we're going either way but I just need money because we would really like to be able to stay at a hotel there. And being that we're kind of crazy and have never really stayed at an awesome four or five-star hotel, we're thinking of staying at the Warldorf Astoria. That would be really cool. We're also thinking of going to Boston, where I used to live for 10 years, and I'm going to show her the city. But, in order for that to happen I need a job. So, I hope I get a call-back from one of those places. Let's see what happens. Anyways, that was it for that.
The next phone call I made was to the condos where we would like to move to. Someone had mentioned to Rani that in order to move to New York a person would have to put his or her name on the waiting list for the apartment that he or she wanted to move into now. We were like, "What!?" So, we decided to call and find out. And I did. I felt like I got nothing accomplished though because the man who picked up was like, "Well, we can't predict what will happen tomorrow. You would have to call 45 days before moving in." I was like, "Great. Way to go, dude. You totally helped me." I was being sarcastic obviously. Whatever. So, I take it that obviously there isn't a waiting list? I don't know. I hope not. I hope that when we decide to finally move there will be a place for us to move to in those condos because Rani and I really liked them. Well, at least we liked them from the pictures that we saw online. But, Rani told me something that made me feel a little bit better about the whole situation. "If the condos were listed in apartments.com, wouldn't that mean that they are available?" I mean, that makes sense. So, we just have to make sure that we move to NY at the perfect time and when there are condos available because seriously... those condos are perfect. At least from what we saw in the pictures and the descriptions and whatnot. Maybe when Rani comes to visit me in Connecticut in January we might set some time aside to look around. Maybe. I don't know yet.
And those are all the updates I have for right now. I really hope I get a call-back from one of those places about a job. I will update on that later.
Anyways, until next time... take care.

Hi to All : )
@9:01 AM
So, my good friend and future roommate Zul pretty much covered all the basics with her first post. We did meet on
Blogtv and eventually became friends. We started talking more and more and she brought up the idea of being roommates. I said okay, but didn't get my hopes up or anything.
We didn't really talk about it for awhile, but then one day she said we should pick a place. She mentioned several places, but the one that I had in my head was New York. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned about where in New York we should settle in and a friend of ours mentioned places that were okay for us to live. Zul looked up to see what the rent was going to be like, so we could figure out what we needed to be making salary/wage wise to live there. As luck would have it, the first place she clicked on we feel in love with and the location was perfect for us, so we got excited and started figuring out when we could move there. We knew not right away, but with in the next two years we believe we could do it.
The biggest reason for not moving sooner is education. She is currently working towards an associates and I am trying to get back in school to work towards my bachelors. I will be doing online courses so it won't be a problem when we move. We are going to wait until she is done with her associates to move, so she won't have to transfer again and will have a degree to help with getting a job there. Plus, we both want to have jobs and save a lot before we move. After the new year I want to find a job in Madison (the capitol of Wisconsin) at a hotel or something. We figured hotels were perfect because they transfer. I do need a job for the next couple of months though, so I put in for a job at Swiss Colony here in Wisconsin where I currently live. It is only a seasonal job, but it is exactly what I need.
I want to go to visit Zul in January. She will be in Connecticut, so we will hang there, but we also want to visit New York and visit a mutual friend we have. Hopefully we can get a glimpse of where we want to live. I just hope everything works out. I am sure we will get along great. It's just better safe than sorry to stay with someone for a week that you are going to be roommates with. If you can live together for a week with no problem then you definitely have a better chance of making it as roommates. But as I said, I am sure there won't be a problem with that. We already get along great and have enough in common where we can have fun but aren't so alike where we would get on each others nerves. I can't wait to visit her!

How it all began
Sunday, September 27, 2009
@9:07 PM
Wow, so, ok... how do I even start? I guess I'll start with how I met Rani. It was almost a year ago. Wow... it was exactly a year ago in about two weeks. It was the weekend after my birthday of last year and my birthday is on October 7th, so yeah... But, that weekend I finally decided to check out Whoners' show on BlogTV, this website where people broadcast and whatever. Well, back then there were only like thirty some-odd people in there and it wasn't as crazy as it is now. But, yeah. I met Rani that week. At the beginning I wasn't really close with anyone but then I started to get closer to Rani, especially when around February/March of this year I got sick and I actually broadcasted on BlogTV with a PICC line coming out of my arm and she would be the only one who would put up with my stupidity. She even saw my mom live in her Christmas pajamas, lol. It was funny.
Since then, Rani and I have become closer and we realized that we are kind way too similar without it getting annoying for either of us. So, yeah...
Fast forward...
Well, the idea for Rani and I to become roommates came about two months ago or so when all of a sudden it came to me. I was like, "Wow. It'd be cool if Rani and I were roommates." So, I asked her. Of course I was like, "Well, she might say no." I thought she would be like one of our friends, Jojo, whom we both met at Whoners' show on BlogTV. Jojo doesn't like meeting people from online so I thought Rani'd be the same and say no. But, she agreed and I was like cool. And we didn't really talk about it a lot for about a month after that because, well... it was more like sort of a joke and we weren't really going to plan it all out or whatnot.
But then after I mentioned about becoming roommates, for some reason, Rani and I would talk on MSN like every single day. Seriously, we still do. We're such dorks that we talk on MSN everyday and even though we do that we write these long emails to each other. It's crazy. I mean, we could just tell each other whatever on MSN yet we decide to also write emails. We're nuts.
So, yeah... we had been writing each other on MSN like everyday and we even talked on Skype frequently. And then it happened! One night, I think it was Rani who mentioned it, she said something like... "So, is this thing about moving in together really going to happen?" Wow, I remember that conversation. Our friend Adrian was in it; we met him at Whoners' show on BlogTV, too. Well, I was like sure. I mean, we had somewhat been talking about moving in together more seriously before that conversation and we even had it down to NY, Boston, Atlanta and Miami. I mentioned Boston, Atlanta and Miami and Rani had mentioned NY. So, I was like, "Yeah, sure." So, I told her that we would look for apartments just to see the prices and whatnot. So, we started with NY. I am so happy that we started with NY because I absolutely fell in love with one of the apartments that I found. When Rani saw it, we knew that that was the place where we want to live in when we get to NY.
But, in order to figure out exactly where in NY to start looking for apartments... well, we asked Adrian for where we could find cheap but good places to live. So, that's when we decided on the Bronx when we saw like THE cutest apartments ever. So, then Adrian left the conversation and we sort of planned everything like cost of living and how much we would need to be paid an hour on a 40 hour week and whatnot. That night we decided that we would do the move as soon as August of 2010.
But then the next day, after I had time to think about it, I told Rani that I really wanted to finish at least my Associates so that when I moved to NY I could be getting paid better money, whatever. So, then we started talking about schools in NY and if I was going to finish college and whatnot. And we decided that I would eventually go to NYU, provided I get accepted, because that's the only school that has my major (Spanish Literature).
So, it's settled. Rani and I are moving to NY and we decided it would be in approximately a year and a half or something like that. Right now I am in North Carolina and I will be here until sometime in December. I am currently in the process of moving to Connecticut for that year and a half and sometime this January Rani is going to visit me up there. When she comes to visit we are going to NY, where our friend Bruce (Whoners) will show us around the city and we'll hang out with him or whatnot. It's going to be so much fun.
Either way, all this has been decided. We are so excited. I know Rani's really excited and as for me, well, I'm ecstatic. We have decided that we need jobs if she is going to be able to come visit me in Connecticut in January, so... yeah. She already had an interview and she is currently waiting for them to call her back. I applied to Blockbuster last Tuesday and well, a job is a job. I will call them tomorrow to see about the status of the application.
That is all for now. Wow, that was a lot. Ohh, well.
Anyways, until next time... take care.
